Shipment delays are honestly the worst, especially when you’re on a tight deadline or have an important event coming up. If you’re serious about getting your package on time, you’ll be sure to stay clear of these common practices that eat into your time and sometimes, your wallet.
- Incomplete Commercial Invoice- Invoices are essentially the root to all shipments. This is why it’s extremely important to fill out this document in its entirety. I’m talking fabric details, country of origin, value and more.
- Poor Customs Preparation– Another reason why invoices are so important is because they dictate the next steps for a shipment. Are U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service permits needed, does the shipment need to be declared, does it need a Ball Drop Test? All important questions that need to be answered, beforehand.
- Incorrect Shipper/Consignee Information-Sometimes the most simple of tasks can trip the best of us up. Even something as simple as shipper/consignee information missing a letter or incorrect zip code.
Are you guilty of committing any of these common practices?
